Why working with us is different…

Every project begins with conversation. We take the time to understand what you need, how you live and what isn't quite working - before putting pen to paper.

From the first sketch through to the finished landscape, we guide you through the process, bringing together the many moving parts of a garden into one clear vision.

Good design doesn't stop when the drawings are finished. We work closely with trusted contractors, specialists and nurseries to help ensure the original vision is carried through.

Architectural thinking with a refined, considered approach. Nothing is added without purpose. We create landscapes where proportion, material, planting and architecture work together naturally.

Spaces shaped around the people and places they belong to. We listen to how our clients live, then create spaces that respond to their home, lifestyle and aspirations.
N A T U R E
Horticulture and ecology woven into every landscape. Planting is integral to the design, not an afterthought. We work with the character of each site, using plants to bring movement, texture, seasonality and longevity.

We believe restraint can have more impact than excess. Strong forms, thoughtful details and carefully selected elements create spaces that feel effortless rather than over-designed.
L O N G E V I T Y
We favour timeless design over trends. Our landscapes are intended to mature, evolve and become more beautiful with time.

are & are is founded on the belief that great landscapes should be many things at once.
A garden can be architectural and natural. Structured and wild. Practical and poetic. The name reflects the multidisciplinary nature of our work.
We are garden designers. We are landscape architects. We are horticulturalists. We are consultants. We are collaborators. We are problem-solvers. We are listeners.
We are. And we are more.
